New Castle County Head Start, Inc. Receives Grant from Principal Financial Group

(Newark, Del.) New Castle County Head Start, Inc. (NCCHS)  is a recipient of a $2,500 grant from the Principal Financial Group to fund the purchase of audiometers for student hearing screenings. Sensory screenings are a key component of the Head Start program and the additional audiometers will allow NCCHS to efficiently screen over 600 students at eight centers.

All students receive sensory and developmental screenings as part of enrollment in the Head Start program. If a delay is identified, Head Start staff works with the local school districts and service agencies to develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP) to remediate delays.

“We are thankful to receive this support from the Principal Financial Group,” comments NCCHS Executive Director Jeffrey E. Benatti. “It is comforting to know that organizations are willing to support children and families in need.”

The Principal Financial Group is a premier global investment manager, and among the industry leaders in a long list of products and services.
