(Newark, Del.) September 18, 2019 - New Castle County Head Start, Inc.(NCCHS) held its annual staff in-service meeting on September 9, 2019 to kick-off the 42ndprogram year. Since 1977, the highly rated NCCHS program has offered comprehensive services to eligible children and families at no cost to families.
This month, NCCHS opened its classroom doors at six centers to 450 children ages three to five years old. In addition, the agency continues its year-round, home-based early care services to 50 Early Head Start families serving pregnant women and children ages birth to three years. NCCHS early childhood program is 100% compliant with all applicable Head Start Program Performance Standards and all centers have received a 5 Star rating from State of Delaware's Quality Rating and Improvement System.
NCCHS presented service awards and special recognition to staff members for their long-term service and outstanding dedication to the organization.

The 25-year service award was presented to Jeanette Lasalle, Absalom Jones Teacher.
The 15-years ervice award was presented to Christine Potter, Manor Park Center Coordinator, (left) and Aneatra Kosh, Bear Teacher (right).
The 10-year service award was presented to Cathy Ruhle, Bear Center Coordinator.
The 5-year service award was presented to (l-r): Eugenia Simmons (Administrative Assistant, Admin. Office), Carmille Vendetti, (Bear Classroom Aide), Sarah Roberts (Lambson Assistant Center Coordinator); Kimberly Hylenski (Bear Teacher).
