Wilmington, Del. - New Castle County Head Start, Inc. has received a perfect review by the National Head Start Association, the federal agency that oversees and evaluates Head Start programs. Head Start is the only education program for young children that has to meet 1,700 separate standards during periodic reviews by strict monitors. Only a select number of Head Start programs nationwide receive a perfect review designation.
New Castle County Head Start, Inc. has been a leader in the community for program improvements and enhancements. From collaboration with the University of Delaware on Early Reading First projects to implementation of a Coaching and Mentoring program, New Castle County Head Start, Inc. continues to grow and improve as an organization to meet the demand for a high quality early childhood program in New Castle County, Delaware.

For 45 years Head Start programs have been giving opportunities to the nation’s most vulnerable children to succeed in school and in life. Research has shown that early experiences of good quality education matter the most to the children who are most at-risk.
