New Castle County Head Start, Inc. Announces New Full Day Program

(Wilmington, Del.) New Castle County Head Start, Inc. proudly announces the addition of a full day preschool program at the Bear, Brandywine, Lambson and Marshallton centers beginning in September 2012. The new program will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., five days a week, and include a full day Head Start curriculum in addition to daily breakfast, lunch and snack. Head Start will continue to offer a half-day program, operating from 9:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., at all nine centers throughout New Castle County.

 “The Head Start staff is very excited to offer a full day option at four centers spread out across the county,” comments Executive Director Jeffrey E. Benatti. “We look forward to meeting the needs of families with full-time employment and offering children a consistent daily routine of hands-on learning in an engaging environment.” 

Since 1977, New Castle County Head Start, Inc. has offered comprehensive early childhood education services to eligible children at no cost to families. Grants from the Federal Department of Health and Human Services and the Delaware Department of Education fund the Head Start program. 

Enrollment Details - Apply Now for Fall 2012

New Castle County Head Start, Inc. is currently accepting applications for Fall 2012. All interested parents should call the Administrative Office at (302) 452-1500 to schedule an enrollment appointment. The program accepts children ages 3-5 years old as of August 31, 2012, and welcomes children of all backgrounds and abilities, including those with special needs. Children from families whose incomes fall at or below the Federal poverty guidelines will receive enrollment priority.
