New Castle County Head Start, Inc. Board of Directors Re-elects Officers and Welcomes New Member

(Wilmington, Del.) New Castle County Head Start, Inc. (NCCHS) Board of Directors re-elected officers for another year term on December 7, 2015. The board officers continuing in their roles are J.D. Lee, Chairperson; Leslie Lee, Vice Chairperson; Michael Mood, Treasurer; and Faith Mwaura, Secretary. The Board of Directors also welcomed new board member, Joyce Kornegay, to the board for a three-year term. 

Chairperson J.D. Lee has served seven years on the NCCHS Board of Directors in roles of Secretary, Vice Chairperson and Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee.Vice Chairperson Leslie Lee has served over 13 years on the board in numerous leadership roles including Secretary and Chairperson. Both Michael Mood and Faith Mwaura are finishing their third year on the board. 

New board member Joyce Kornegay is an Educational Consultant with over 45 years of professional experience in the education field. She has held numerous educator roles including Teacher, Vice Principal and Principal. In 2008, Ms. Kornegay served as  co-founder of Newark Educators’ Community Charter School in Newark, New Jersey. She holds a Bachelors of Arts from Jersey City State Teacher’s College and a Masters of Arts from William Paterson University in addition to numerous professional certifications in the education field.
