(Wilmington, Del.) New Castle County Head Start, Inc. (NCCHS) received a favorable Federal Monitoring Review from the Administration for Children & Families. The monitoring review team visited NCCHS during the week of February 9, 2014 and conducted observations in the classrooms using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS). The CLASS tool looks at three domains and ten dimensions of teacher-child interactions and measures those observed interactions on a seven point scale. (Wilmington, Del.) New Castle County Head Start, Inc.’s partner nominee Red Clay Consolidated School District was presented the 2013-2014 Partner of the Year Award at the annual “Making a Difference” conference hosted by the Delaware Head Start Association and the Delaware Association for the Education of Young Children on April 11 - 12, 2014. The awards were presented by April Hill-Addison, Director of the Delaware Head Start State Collaboration Office. Head Start grantees across the state submitted partner and parent award nominations.
